  • Privacy Policy for Applicants

    Dear applicant,

    We would like to welcome you to the application management of the Diehl Group. We would like to thank you for your interest in our company and inform you in the following about the processing of your personal data (hereinafter only "data").

    1. Who is responsible for your application?
    We are jointly responsible for applicant management at Diehl. This means that the responsibility for processing your data lies with the group company to which you have applied. If you have not applied to a specific company, the company to which we have assigned your application within the Group is responsible.


    2. What data do we process?
    To enable us to process your application, we process the following data about you:

    • Your first and last name, Your mailing address,
    • Your e-mail address,
    • Your resume,
    • The language in which we may communicate with you
    • Any further data that you communicate to us


    3. What do we do with your data?
    We use your data exclusively for the execution of the application procedure. This may include cross-checking your data against sanctions lists.


    4. Why may we process your data?
    The legal basis for the processing of your data is Art. 88 GDPR in conjunction with Section 26 Para. 1 German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). The legal basis for applications outside Germany is Art. 6 (1) Sentence 1 Letter b GDPR. The processing is necessary for the decision on the establishment of the employment relationship. Without this data, we will not be able to review your application.


    5. How long do we store your data for?
    We will delete or anonymise your data as soon as it is no longer required for the above-mentioned purposes. This is usually six months after you receive a rejection.

    If you have agreed to be included in our pool of applicants, we will delete or anonymise your data no later than two years after receipt of a rejection.

    The legal basis for longer storage is your informed consent according to Art. 6 Para. 1 Sentence 1 lit. a) GDPR. You can revoke this consent at any time by sending an email to perspektiven@diehl.com. Of course, you will not suffer any disadvantages in the application process if you have not given your consent or revoke it.


    6. Who will receive your data?
    We ensure that only those departments and persons receive your data who need them to fulfil their contractual obligations. In concrete terms, these are the bodies involved in the personnel selection process, typically the personnel and specialist department responsible in each case and the works council responsible in each case.

    If you have agreed to the transfer of your data within the Diehl Group, the personnel departments of other Group companies are also entitled to access your data. This also applies to Group companies based in countries outside the European Economic Area, if you have consented to this.

    The legal basis for the transfer of data within the Diehl Group is your informed consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a) GDPR.

    The legal basis for the transfer of data to Group companies based in countries outside the European Economic Area is your separate informed consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a) GDPR. We have provided suitable guarantees for the protection of your data. In particular, this includes binding, group-internal data protection regulations.

    You can revoke this consent at any time by sending an email to perspektiven@diehl.com. Of course, you will not suffer any disadvantages in the application process if you have not given your consent or revoke it.

    Insofar as IT service providers support our specialist departments in the fulfilment of their tasks, they may receive access to your data under certain circumstances. We carefully select these service providers and contractually obligate them to comply with data protection regulations.


    7. Will your data be transferred to third countries?
    We only transfer personal data with your informed consent in accordance with section 6.


    8. Who makes the decision regarding your application?
    At Diehl, it is always people who make the decision. In no case will we make an exclusively automated decision on a job placement.

    11. Obligation to provide data
    The decision wether to establish an employment relationship with you or not can only be made if you provide us with certain personal data, such as your curriculum vitae. In doing so, we naturally observe the principle of data efficiency and data avoidance in that you only have to provide us with the data that we need to fully check your application documents or that we are legally obliged to collect. Unfortunately, without this data we cannot review your application documents.
    Of course, you have the option of voluntarily providing us with additional information in your application documents.
